Fernwald, 17.07.2023 – “When I see and hear this, I get the urge to drive emergency medical services again”, this is how the Member of the Bundestag and Chairman of the Budget Committee Prof. Dr. Helge Braun summarized an appointment in Fernwald. There he visited the company medDV together with the state parliament candidate in constituency 19, Lucas Schmitz, and the chairman of the local CDU, Jan-Eric Walb. They were received by the managing directors Gunter Ernst and Carsten Rausch.
“The more information we can transmit directly, the better the patient care. Our platform-independent solutions offer real added value and can accelerate and thus improve patient treatment,” said Carsten Rausch. His colleague Gunter Ernst emphasized: “We both come from the rescue service and therefore know what is important. That is particularly important in all our solutions.”
During the discussion, it became clear that Germany still has some catching up to do in terms of digitization and the efficient transfer of patient data compared to other countries. Prof. Dr. Helge Braun expressed, “We can see that there is still a lot to do.” It is therefore all the more gratifying and significant that we have such an innovative and modern company as medDV in our region. Modern technical aids can not only speed up work processes, but also improve patient care for the benefit of those affected. This was emphasized by the specialist in anesthesiology, who also worked for many years as an emergency physician in Central Hesse.
During the further discussion, various topics such as tele-medicine, specialist recruitment and employee retention were discussed. medDV is also active in the field of tele-medicine and has already successfully won its first tenders. The company would like to push the expansion of this field in Central Hesse and offers its support there.
With all these plans, however, it is important to ensure an appropriate level of growth, as it is difficult to find the skilled workers needed. Particularly in the area of IT specialists, there is a high pressure to poach. The company medDV tries to counteract this by offering good pay, a family-like working environment and various measures such as a self-prepared lunch for employees.
State parliament candidate Lucas Schmitz praised these measures and emphasized that family- or entrepreneur-managed medium-sized companies are not only the backbone of the economy, but are also distinguished by their care for employees. Visitors to the event were able to see the positive aspects for themselves.
Schmitz also emphasized the importance of politics in creating favorable framework conditions for companies. In this context, he said, it was important to reduce the increasing bureaucracy and lack of flexibility, as well as to improve the complicated and sometimes impractical tendering procedures in Germany. The politicians were given these points as important impetus to take with them.
